Alarman was founded on 1 April 1992 by Jan Potgieter as a sole proprietorship and became Alarman Security Systems cc in 2002. We are curently (as if 10 June 2016) operating under our original sole proprietorship to save our clients money.

The owner is responsible for overall business management. Jan is strong on a wide range of product know-how and technology.

Gerda Potgieter (his wife) is strong on human relations and administration. She is responsible for the office administration including finances and client liaison.

Jan had a successful career in Design, Documentation Co-ordination, product development, production and quality control of Missile system before becoming owner of Alarman. He was a production project manager at Kentron and plant improvement designer for Iscor before that. He holds a Diploma in Electricity from the Pretoria Technicon. With numerous other courses on electronics, quality management & improvement, Alarm Systems, Electric Fencing and industrial project management. He is capable of ensuring only the best value for money towards our clients.
